Green synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles using <i>Hibiscus</i> plant extract

In the present work, hematite (α-Fe2O3) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by using a simple and facile green synthesis Hibiscus plant extract. The used solution is composed of extract 0.1 M iron chloride mixture. are grown at ambient temperature. prepared morphology, structure composition characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) high-resolution transmission (HRTEM). formed agglomeration spherical mono-disperse grains. XRD analysis reveals that grains polycrystalline with an average particle size 20 nm. calcinated contain small traces maghemite hydroxide. A vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) was for nanoparticle magnetic properties determination. finding superparamagnetic behaviour α-Fe2O3 owing to saturated magnetization (Ms) 0.96 emu/g, low remnant Mr 0.06 emu/g.
